“We value this visit on such a special day, when we remember the Chernobyl accident and the immense solidarity and dedication of our people, which helped protect our country, our entire region, all of Europe, and the world from an even greater radiation catastrophe.”

The leaders focused on their joint path toward the European Union, with Zelenskyy stressing the need to swiftly open all six clusters: “We are now working to ensure that all six clusters are opened quickly, and that EU membership becomes a shared success-for Ukraine, Moldova, and the entire EU.”

Furthermore, the Ukrainian president reaffirmed his commitment to Moldova’s territorial integrity and pledged continued Ukrainian support on security matters, particularly regarding the situation in the Transnistrian region.

“I personally thank Maia and all of Moldova for supporting Ukraine and for cooperation that strengthens our entire region,”
