According to МЗС: During his speech at the United Nations General Assembly, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized the urgent need to enhance Ukraine’s military capabilities to bring an end to the ongoing conflict with Russia. He stressed the critical role of curtailing trade with Russia to reduce its financial resources that fuel the war effort. Zelensky stated,

“A nation that seeks peace must invest in powerful weaponry. This is precisely what Ukraine is doing.”

Highlighting Ukraine’s unexpected advances, Zelensky pointed out that Russia never anticipated Ukrainian long-range drones reaching its military facilities deep in Siberia and the Yamal Peninsula. He noted significant challenges facing Russia’s oil industry, adding,

“For the first time in Russian history, we hear that its pride-the oil sector-is gasping for air.”
