Zelensky named the key condition for elections in Ukraine: what needs to happen

According to glavcom.ua: The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that one of the key conditions for organizing elections in Ukraine is a ceasefire. According to him, this is a very important aspect for ensuring the legitimacy of the elections and their results. The President emphasized the readiness for elections and cooperation with lawmakers to make the necessary changes to legislation.

«In order to hold legitimate elections in Ukraine, a security infrastructure is needed. I said that the duration of the process can vary, and we are ready for elections at any time, coordinating timelines with partners and other parties», - emphasized Zelensky.

It is noted that the technical aspects regarding the elections have already been studied, and seven working groups in the CEC are working on this. However, none of these documents are yet ready for consideration at a plenary session due to political instability concerns.

According to the president, Ukraine needs at least six months to prepare for conducting free and fair elections.
