Ukraine Imposes Sanctions on 41 Russian Judges and Extends Measures Against Companies
New Sanctions Target Russian Judges and Firms
According to Главком: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has enacted new sanctions against 41 Russian judges and extended existing restrictions on 11 Russian companies. The sanctions list includes 38 Russian judges who have issued fabricated verdicts against captured Ukrainian military personnel, along with three collaborators operating in temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories. This move is part of Kyiv's ongoing legal and economic pressure campaign against individuals and entities supporting Russia's war effort.
Among the sanctioned judges is Sergey Vyacheslavovich Obraztsov of the Southern District Military Court of the Russian Federation. In 2024, he sentenced Ukrainian servicemen V.S. Plakhotnik and O.V. Lyubas to 18 and 20 years imprisonment, respectively. Another judge, Konstantin Igorevich Prostov, issued verdicts in 2025 sentencing members of the 'Azov' battalion-M.A. Lishchynskyi, D.M. Danyilchuk, and O.I. Dakhnenko-to 18 years in prison each.
Sanctions Extended on Key Russian Industries
President Zelenskyy also signed a decree extending sanctions against 11 Russian companies whose previous restrictions were set to expire. The renewed sanctions affect enterprises servicing 'Ka' and 'Mi' class helicopters, a company involved in drone manufacturing, and firms implicated in the construction of the Kerch Strait Bridge. In a related earlier decision, the President enacted a National Security and Defense Council resolution imposing sanctions on 10 Russian transport, logistics, and postal companies for providing logistical support to occupation forces and facilitating illegal activities in seized territories.
“The list also includes judges-turned-traitors Nikulin, Bychkov, and Kharakhulakh. Some, like Vladyslav Vlasuk, still hold active legal licenses.”
These decisions reflect Ukraine's continued efforts to combat unlawful actions harming the state and its citizens. The sanctions against Russian judges and companies form a key part of Ukraine's strategy to counter aggression and protect its interests internationally. These actions demonstrate the Ukrainian leadership's resolve in punishing those complicit in war crimes and human rights violations, while the extension of sanctions on firms supplying military equipment underscores the importance of sustained international pressure on Russia amid the ongoing conflict.
