Ukrainian President Meets with Belarusian Media

According to Главком: In his first meeting with Belarusian journalists since the full-scale invasion began four years ago, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned of the consequences of Belarus's complicity in the Russian Federation's aggression. Zelenskyy highlighted the deployment of Russian military hardware on Belarusian territory, which he stated is facilitating the killing of Ukrainian citizens. This meeting underscores Kyiv's ongoing diplomatic efforts to isolate Russia and hold its allies accountable.

Zelenskyy pointed out that missiles and troops initially entered Ukraine from Belarus. In the second half of 2025, Russia deployed a system of signal repeaters in Belarus, enabling more effective control of attack drones. This system has significantly expanded the Russian army's ability to strike northern regions of Ukraine, from the Kyiv area to Volyn. According to the President, some attacks on energy infrastructure and railways could not have been carried out by Russia without assistance from Belarus.

President's Remarks on the Belarusian Leader

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also stressed that Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko 'knows exactly what is happening in Belarus.' He recalled that at the start of the full-scale invasion, Lukashenko claimed missiles flying into Ukraine were on Belarusian territory without his control. However, Zelenskyy stated that new equipment has now appeared in Belarus, specifically designed to kill Ukrainian citizens and civilians. This accusation places direct responsibility on Minsk for enabling attacks on a sovereign neighbor.

The meeting with Belarusian media highlights Ukraine's commitment to international communication and its attempt to convey its position on Russian aggression and Belarusian involvement to the global community. Given the increasing Russian military activity in Belarus, this issue is growing more urgent, as it impacts the security of not only Ukraine but also neighboring nations. The Ukrainian side seeks to draw international attention to the threats emanating from Belarusian territory, which could have significant implications for diplomatic relations across the region.
