Information on whether there are Ukrainians among the victims of the earthquake in Turkey has not yet been received by the Consulate General of Ukraine in Istanbul. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine based on data from 'Glavkom' citing 'Ukrinform'.

«Information regarding the presence of Ukrainian citizens among the victims has not been received by the Consulate General of Ukraine in Istanbul. At the same time, the institution continues to monitor the security situation», – the agency reported.

It should be noted that a strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 on the Richter scale occurred in Turkey. On the evening of October 27, in the city of Sindirgi, Balıkesir province, at 22:48 local time, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 on the Richter scale occurred in this area. The epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of about 6 kilometers, and tremors were felt in other provinces, including Istanbul and Izmir.

The Turkish Minister of Health, Kemal Memişoğlu, stated that there were no direct casualties from the earthquake; however, citizens were affected by aftershocks. The injured were hospitalized, but their condition was assessed by doctors as stable.

Ukrainian consular offices continue to monitor the situation and are interested in the possible presence of Ukrainian citizens among the victims.
