Women in the Armed Forces of Ukraine: what combat and non-combat positions can Ukrainian women hold
In the Armed Forces of Ukraine, women can hold various positions, both non-combat (accountants, doctors, IT specialists, cooks) and combat (drone pilots, medics, electronic warfare specialists). To join the army, one must successfully complete training and pass an interview with a recruiter.
Ukraine only allows female volunteers to serve in the Armed Forces; the contract stipulates service until the end of the war or the adoption of a demobilization law. Compulsory conscription of women is not provided, except for medical specialists who are required to have military registration. However, a recent statement about 'buthification' from the Territorial Recruitment Center in Kyiv caused an outcry.
Female mobilization in the Armed Forces of Ukraine includes various non-combat and combat positions, as well as restrictions on the compulsory conscription of women to this service, while still allowing for voluntary participation in military actions.
