Biathlon star Dorothea Wierer will retire in 2026

According to glavcom.ua: Italian biathlete Dorothea Wierer plans to end her professional career after the 2025/26 season. The athlete stated this in an interview for the portal Chiemgau 24, adding that she hopes for an exciting season before her exit. Nowadays Wierer is a recognized legend in the biathlon world, she is a four-time world champion, Olympic medalist, and two-time winner of the Big Crystal Globe.

At the same time, in Ukraine at the European Youth Olympic Festival, our athletes demonstrated impressive results, finishing 10th in the overall medal standings. Our team earned 5 gold, 8 silver, and 10 bronze medals, we are proud of our young athletes!
