Reduced fines for entrepreneurs for a reward: a tax officer detained in Khmelnytskyi
According to glavcom.ua: Law enforcement agencies have taken into custody the chief state inspector of the Main Department of the State Tax Service of Ukraine in the Khmelnytskyi region for receiving a bribe. The official demanded money from individual entrepreneurs for lowering fines, which could cause budgetary losses of 800 thousand hryvnias.
On July 17, 2025, law enforcement officers detained the official 'red-handed' while receiving the full bribe amount.
The individual has been notified of suspicion of corruption. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
Meanwhile, in Kyiv, the police caught an entrepreneur who demanded a bribe for permits to place advertisements. Also, the chief accountant of one of the capital's firms embezzled more than 1.7 million hryvnias from the company's accounts.
Recent events show that the fight against corruption in Ukraine continues, and law enforcement agencies are detecting and stopping cases of corruption, regardless of position or region.
