Discount on gas for pensioners: Ukrainians explained who can avoid paying for utilities
According to hvylya.net: Ukrainians were surprised by unpleasant news: now pensioners who own their own property with gas appliances will have to pay for the technical maintenance of gas networks. This means that even if gas is not used, pensioners will have to pay a second bill for gas transportation.
The energy regulator explained that all property owners connected to the gas pipeline must pay for the support of gas networks. This rule applies to all consumers, including pensioners, and does not depend on the actual use of gas.
Moreover, owners of gas appliances that are not used will need to submit monthly meter readings with zero values to avoid unnecessary payments.
If they wish not to pay for gas transportation, pensioners should completely disconnect from the gas distribution network. To do this, they need to arrange an act of cessation of gas supply, submit a written application to the gas distribution operator, and wait for technical disconnection.
- Obtain an act of cessation of gas supply.
- Contact the gas distribution operator with a written application for contract termination.
- Wait for technical disconnection - specialists will carry out the necessary procedures.
If the company refuses to disconnect the gas, one can file a complaint with the NKREKP.
