NATO and Ukraine Launch Defense Innovations Worth €10 Million: What Will Be Developed
NATO and Ukraine have announced the launch of a joint project UNITE – Brave NATO, which involves allocating €10 million for defense innovations. The first competition is scheduled for 2026 with a budget of €10 million. Participation in the program will be coordinated by Brave1 in Ukraine with the support of the Comprehensive Assistance Package for Ukraine and the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
The main areas of the program are countering drones, strengthening air defense, and improving communication and navigation systems at the front. This project is beneficial for both sides: NATO will gain valuable experience, and Ukraine will accelerate the development of its defense technologies.
Expected Steps and Plans for the Future
Applications for the competition will be accepted starting February 2026, with winners announced in the spring of the same year. Details of the competition will be published in the coming months. In the future, there are plans to increase program funding to €50 million.
