According to hvylya.net: Ukrainian soldiers captured about 40 Russian servicemen. According to the head of the communication department of the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade, Senior Lieutenant Rostislav Yashchishin, the operation to capture the group of enemies was successful, during which some of them had to surrender voluntarily, while others were captured during combat.

'Two of our sergeants just rolled them up like cool poker players, led a big burrow with the occupiers, and brought seven of them to our position bound. These are the people we should talk about,' emphasized the senior lieutenant.

Motivation of Russian Servicemen

According to Yashchishin, the motives of Russian soldiers who end up in captivity are usually quite simple and do not have anything heroic. Usually, it is a desire to avoid military captivity or calculations on debts for loans.

'In general, everything is very banal for them, old-fashioned. Either dodge from prison, or close loans. Or just, as they love to say, 'out of stupidity',' explained the military brigade representative.

As a result of the successful operation, Ukrainian servicemen were able to capture dozens of Russian servicemen who had various motivations to avoid captivity. For many of them, it was more important to maintain freedom and avoid military captivity than to uphold 'heroic' ideals.
