European Commission Commissioner for Defense and Space Andrius Kubilius stated that countries outside the EU, such as Norway, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom, have the opportunity to join the EU satellite communication network IRIS². Norway is already in negotiations, while Ukraine and the United Kingdom are not yet, but they may have the potential for this.Kubilius noted that Iceland is also participating in the IRIS² program after completing negotiations. The new EU legislation could become a hurdle for companies looking to enter the EU market with their space services, but currently, there are no negative reactions to this project.
