In Kyiv, the possibility of paying for travel in private minibuses electronically has emerged. This decision was supported by the transport commission of the Kyiv City Council, which will allow the city to manage passenger flow and carriers' income.

Passengers will have the opportunity to board minibuses faster, and drivers will be able to avoid distractions from cash transactions.

Although there were previous attempts to implement electronic payment, this petition received support and will be implemented. However, private carriers are opposing due to shortcomings in reimbursing travel costs for beneficiaries.

Private carriers and beneficiaries

Currently, beneficiaries are reimbursed only for part of the travel cost, and compensation will only be available on the condition of using the 'Kyivite Card'. Other beneficiary categories are to receive compensation at the state level. After the system is launched, private carriers will have two months to connect to the system, after which possible agreements may be terminated.

It is also worth noting the plans to connect Kyiv with adjacent settlements through a new tram route, which is one of the city's future infrastructure projects.

The Kyiv City Council supported the introduction of cashless payment for travel in private minibuses, which will enhance passenger convenience and improve the operation of carriers. However, there are certain contradictions between private carriers and beneficiaries that require additional resolution.
