Agricultural production fell by 14%: reasons for the decline named

According to the results of the first nine months of 2025, the volume of agricultural production in Ukraine decreased by 14% compared to the same period in 2024. The agricultural production index amounted to 86.0% of last year's indicators. There is a decline in both crop production (by 6.4%) and livestock production (by 4.4%).



In some regions of Ukraine, there is positive dynamics in livestock production, but the largest decline has been recorded in the southern and eastern regions, which were affected by the conflict in the east of the country.



This decline, according to experts, is due to a number of factors, including delays in sowing and harvesting, as well as a complex situation in the east and south of Ukraine, which significantly affects the agricultural sector of the country.


As of the end of the second quarter of 2025, there are 82.9 thousand agricultural companies registered in Ukraine. Kyiv is the leader in the number of agricultural companies, with 11.9 thousand registered companies (14.3% of the total).



The decline in agricultural production in Ukraine for the first nine months of 2025 is 14%. The reasons for this are various factors such as delays in sowing and harvesting, as well as difficult conditions in the east and south of the country. Despite some positive dynamics in livestock production in some regions, the overall trend is negative, especially in areas affected by conflict.
