Attacks on Gas Stations

According to Главком: On July 3, drones disabled multiple gas stations across the Poltava, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions, triggering fires. The attacks were confirmed by Serhiy Kuyun, director of the A-95 consulting group, and Vitaliy Dyakivnych, head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration.

In the Poltava region, at least four gas stations were targeted, located in Pyryatyn and the Lubny district. Specifically, the enemy struck a station in the Lubny district during an air raid alert. Dyakivnych stated:

“Two more gas stations in the Lubny district were attacked by enemy drones this evening. As of now, no reports of injuries have been received by emergency services.”

Attacks were also recorded in Sumy, where two gas stations in the regional center were damaged. In the Kharkiv region, at least one station was hit. No information on casualties has been reported in these cases. However, over the past week, occupiers had already targeted a gas station in the Poltava district, resulting in one person being injured.

Impact on Infrastructure

The WOG network has implemented a special operating mode in several regions due to ongoing shelling. At the end of June, Russia struck gas stations in Sumy, and throughout June, 13 attacks on fuel stations were recorded in the Sumy region, as confirmed by Oleh Hryhoriv, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration. These events highlight the threat posed by enemy actions to infrastructure and the population in these areas.

These strikes on Ukrainian gas stations underscore the escalating aggression aimed at destabilizing critical infrastructure. Occurring amid a broader escalation of the conflict, these incidents jeopardize not only the economy but also the safety of civilians. The response of the gas station network to these new threats reflects the urgent need to adapt to wartime conditions and ensure consumer safety.

The recent drone strikes highlight a troubling trend in the ongoing conflict, with critical infrastructure increasingly under attack. This follows earlier incidents involving Russian ballistic missile strikes targeting gas facilities, raising concerns about the safety of energy resources in Ukraine.
