Most Ukrainians Support One-Term Presidency for Zelensky: Data from New Sociological Research
Sociological Research on President Volodymyr Zelensky
A sociological study conducted by the company 'SocioPolis' at the request of the Center for Strategic Communications 'Forum' shows that most Ukrainians believe that Volodymyr Zelensky should complete his presidency after the current term. This research, which took place from November 18 to 24, 2025, revealed that 52.2% of respondents support the idea of a one-term presidency for Zelensky, while 42.8% of those surveyed suggest he run again.
It is worth noting that the share of supporters of the 'one term' idea has increased from 46.6% in September 2025 to 52.2% in November. This indicates a growing skepticism about the possibility of re-election for the sitting president. Among the reasons for this attitude, the survey results show that 60% of respondents believe the president is personally responsible for the actions of Timur Mindich.
Trust Level in the President
Regarding the level of trust in the president, 54% of those surveyed in the second half of November 2025 expressed full or somewhat trust in Volodymyr Zelensky. However, it is worth noting that this indicator has decreased compared to September 2025, when 59.7% of Ukrainians trusted the president. Thus, the level of trust has decreased by 5.7%, and 41.9% of citizens do not trust Zelensky. Among them, 26% of respondents declared complete distrust.
This data reflects changes in public opinion and a growing critical sentiment among the population against the backdrop of corruption scandals, which may affect the future political prospects of the president.
The results of this sociological study underscore the serious challenges facing Volodymyr Zelensky in the context of his future political career.
The increase in support for the idea of a one-term presidency against the backdrop of decreasing trust levels indicates that Ukrainian society is becoming increasingly critical of the authorities' actions. These factors may significantly influence the outcomes of potential elections and the strategies of political parties in Ukraine. In an environment of growing demand for change, the question of accountability of the authorities becomes particularly relevant for voters.
