On Sunday, December 28, the ski resort Bukovel officially started the winter season. The first day of operation was accompanied by long queues at the lifts and active discussions about the cost of ski passes and services on social media. This is reported by PIK.

With the start of the season, visitors are massively posting photos and videos of the queues, which are largest during peak daytime hours. The traditional influx of tourists in the first days of the resort's operation this year has intensified due to the limited number of open slopes.

Bukovel Season Opening: Why the Launch Was Delayed

The resort administration explains that the start of the ski season had to be postponed due to the abnormally warm winter in the Carpathians. In December, there was a lack of natural snow, so the opening of the slopes was postponed until artificial snowmaking was possible.

In Bukovel, they report that they plan to gradually open new slopes in the coming days. Final decisions will be made depending on weather conditions and the possibilities for further artificial snowmaking on the slopes.

It should be noted that prices for recreation in Bukovel during the New Year period 2025/2026 have significantly increased. In particular, hotel prices start from 60 to 100 thousand hryvnias for accommodation.
