Salmonellosis in the Carpathians: 10 children poisoned in hotels of Slavske due to violations
Children were poisoned with salmonellosis in hotel and recreational complexes
The Main Department of the State Food Service in Lviv Oblast has completed an epidemiological investigation of the outbreak of food poisoning in the village of Slavske. According to the service, ten children were poisoned with salmonellosis. On August 17, 2025, a group of 34 children arrived at the hotel and recreational complex 'Carpathian Comfort'. Ten of them showed signs of food poisoning, as they were staying at the 'Carpathians' hotel.
The investigation showed that the causative agent was Salmonella enteritidis, which was found in dishes with chicken fillet. Specialists identified violations of sanitary standards, non-compliance with cooking technology, and the absence of separation zones for products. As a result, the production of food in the establishments was temporarily suspended, and both entities were fined.
It is worth noting that the administration of the 'Carpathians' hotel refused to cooperate with the investigation, but the management of 'Carpathian Comfort' assisted the inspectors' work.
The victims are in the hospital, where they are receiving medical assistance and undergoing tests to determine the cause of the illness.
