Agricultural Production Fell by 14%: The Most Vulnerable Regions Named

The State Statistics Service reported that in Ukraine, agricultural production decreased by 14% in January-September 2025 compared to the previous year.

The overall agricultural production index for nine months was 86% compared to last year. Crop production suffered the most, with an index of 83.6%, while livestock showed less loss at 95.9%.

In large agricultural enterprises, production decreased even more, with an index of only 82.5%. The most significant decline occurred in crop production – 79.1%, while livestock held steady at 98.6%.

Private farms proved to be more resilient to negative trends, with a combined production index of 93.2%. Crop production in private farms was 93.9%, while livestock production was 91.1%.

Regional Analysis

The most significant production decrease was observed in the Donetsk region, where the index was only 56.1% of last year's figures. Also noteworthy is the decrease in the Kherson region (66.9%), Dnipropetrovsk (75.6%), and Chernihiv (79.1%).

The only region where production increased was the Transcarpathian region, with an index of 102.7%.

Regionally, the most considerable production decrease was noted in the Donetsk region, while the only positive region where the index increased was the Transcarpathian region.
