Diplomatic exit for $18 thousand: ex-university teacher exposed in Lviv
According to glavcom.ua: A former lecturer from one of the local universities was detained in Lviv, accused of organizing a scheme for the illegal transportation of a conscripted man across the state border. He asked for $18,000 for this. This was reported by 'Gromadske' citing the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
According to the investigation, the former lecturer offered a resident of Drohobych to organize a way out of the country during martial law. To do this, he promised to create documents indicating that the man allegedly had to serve in a diplomatic capacity at one of the international organizations. This would have allowed him to leave the territory of Ukraine without hindrance.
The fact of receiving part of the funds, in particular $9,000, was documented within the framework of a criminal proceeding initiated under Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine). The detention was carried out under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
The former lecturer has currently been informed of suspicion and a motion is being prepared to the court for choosing a preventive measure in the form of detention.
The detention of the former lecturer in Lviv for organizing illegal transportation across the border indicates serious security threats in the country during martial law. According to the law, the perpetrator faces certain criminal liability for his actions.
