Electronic queue for passenger cars is being launched for Ukrainians: when it starts

In Ukraine, the launch of an updated electronic queue system at the border is being prepared, which will for the first time be available to passenger car owners. The new functionality will allow booking a place for crossing the border online. This is reported by the Government portal.

The Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine reported that the launch of the updated e-Queue system is expected as early as June. The service will be available not only for transporters but also for citizens crossing the border in their own vehicles.

Users will be able to register in the electronic queue through Diia, as well as via the website and mobile application of e-Queue.

Electronic queue at the border: what new opportunities will arise

The main innovation will be the ability to book a place in the queue for passenger cars. The system will also automatically check the availability of the Green Card insurance policy by vehicle number.

In addition, functionality expansion for transporters is provided:

• booking a queue for transit buses through Ukraine;

• re-registration of shuttle trips with one permit;

• replacement of the vehicle for irregular transport;

• one-time use of documents to prevent abuse.

The development of new capabilities is happening with the support of international partners, particularly EU and UK projects aimed at digitization and development of border infrastructure.

The Vice Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine, Minister of Communities and Territories Development Alexey Kuba noted that the system has already proven its effectiveness: over 3 million border crossings by trucks and buses occurred through preliminary online registration.

The government plans to continue expanding the capabilities of e-Queue to make border crossing more predictable and convenient for both citizens and businesses.

As a reminder, among buses, the most popular points for departure are: 'Shehyni – Medyka' – 30 thousand crossings, 'Krakovec – Korchowa' – 27 thousand, 'Yahodin – Dorohusk' – 19 thousand, 'Ustilug – Zosin' – 11.7 thousand, 'Rava-Ruska – Khrebenne' – 11.6 thousand.
