Fines for unregistered televisions and radios in Poland

In Poland, many people do not comply with the requirement for mandatory registration of televisions and radios. The law requires the registration of these devices within 14 days after their purchase. If violations are detected, the owners face a fine of 819 zlotys for the television and 261 zlotys for the radio.

If the device is not actually used - the mere fact of ownership is sufficient.

Registration is possible at the Polish Post offices or online. After registration, the user receives an individual identification number and a bill for the subscription fee. The fee must be paid even if the device is not used.

Categories of citizens exempt from payment

War disabled, military veterans, and their family members may be exempt from paying the fee. To take advantage of this right, an official declaration must be submitted to the Polish Post.

Poland has established fines for unregistered televisions and radios, from which one can be exempted only if the device is not actually used. War disabled, veterans, and their families can submit a declaration to the postal service to be exempt from the fee.
