Ukrainian Hryvnia Exchange Rate Forecast for the End of the Year

According to hvylya.net: According to the material from Economic Truth, deputies approved the first reading of the budget for 2026, in which the Ministry of Finance planned the dollar exchange rate at 45.7 hryvnias. Although such forecasts are rarely fulfilled, this year the currency is trading within 41.5-42 hryvnias per dollar. This discrepancy complicates budget calculations but currently does not significantly affect their implementation.

The National Bank of Ukraine explains that while the planned dollar exchange rate is higher than the real rate, the euro rate is close to the computed rate. Since Ukraine's main trade occurs with the European Union, the currency factor has not become critical for budget revenue. It is expected that the rate will remain stable considering seasonal fluctuations, and it may fluctuate in the range of 41.5-42 hryvnias.

Banking experts believe that the hryvnia will weaken by no more than 3% by the end of the year, forecasting a rate around 43 hryvnias. However, there are surveys regarding a possible weakening of the national currency to the level of 42-42.5 hryvnias per dollar, depending on the decisions of the National Bank of Ukraine and the IMF.

Banking experts make forecasts for the future, indicating the possibility of some weakening of the hryvnia by the end of the current year.
