Rain in Vinnytsia region halted two sugar factories: the reason is named

Bad weather damaged the harvest at the sugar factories
Дощі у Вінницькій області призупинили роботу двох цукрових заводів: вказано причину.

Sugar factories in the Vinnytsia region temporarily ceased operations due to a lack of raw materials. This happened because the bad weather prevented farmers from harvesting sugar beets. As a result, there was a shortage of sugar raw materials, leading to the suspension of work at two factories. Currently, the situation has improved slightly, harvesting has resumed, and three sugar factories are operating. Meanwhile, other enterprises that have suspended operations are trying to acquire the necessary amount of raw materials for the restoration of production.

Practically all of the first and the beginning of the second decade of October saw rain in the Vinnytsia region. Consequently, due to soil over moisture, farmers could not harvest the sugar beets. As a result of such weather conditions, a deficit of sugar raw materials was formed, which caused the suspension of two sugar factories.

It is also worth noting that the yield of sugar beets in the Vinnytsia region showed very good results. Farmers completed the harvesting of beets on more than half of the sown areas, amounting to 19 thousand hectares. The average yield reached 431 quintals per hectare, which is 29 quintals higher than last year.
