The State Fiscal Service of Ukraine has decided to strengthen control over prices for electronics following a sharp rise in the cost of backup power devices. According to official information from the service, some products have even increased in price by 30% within just a week.

Acting Head of the State Fiscal Service Lesya Karnaukh emphasized: 'Transparent rules for everyone are, among other things, about humanity and honesty. Especially in difficult conditions.'

In addition, Karnaukh spoke about a meeting with representatives of retail chains, where the issue of business integrity and equality of competitive conditions was discussed. She noted that the rise in prices for electronics is a 'new challenge' and an attempt by some players in the market to take advantage of the situation.

'When people spent 12-18 hours without electricity and water, and energy workers struggled to restore supply, a few individuals decided to make extra money,' Karnaukh wrote.

The tax service also discovered a sharp increase in prices for charging stations and generators. Karnaukh noted that the price increases mainly started from wholesale suppliers, who reacted to the surge in demand.

The head of the State Fiscal Service stressed that the service will monitor the situation with 'gray' electronics and check the correctness of pricing to determine tax liabilities. She called for mutual aid and support for each other during the crisis.

The State Fiscal Service is strengthening control over prices for electronics in connection with the rapid increase in the cost of certain goods, which allows combating unscrupulous players in the market and ensuring consumer protection.
