New Feature Added to the eQueue Platform

According to Міністерство інфраструктури: Starting May 12, 2026, a new automated function within the eQueue system will verify the validity of the international insurance certificate known as the 'Green Card' for commercial vehicles at the time of online booking. If a valid certificate is not detected upon arrival at the border checkpoint, the driver’s spot in the queue will be automatically canceled. This update comes from a joint effort by the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development and the Motor Transport Insurance Bureau of Ukraine (MTSBU).

Developed under the 'Electronic Border Crossing Queue' project, this feature aims to improve convenience and safety for commercial vehicle drivers. The system will automatically check insurance coverage during the online booking process and display the status in the user’s personal account. Drivers will also be able to see the certificate’s expiration date, helping them avoid unexpected issues.

“We are continuing to develop eQueue as a service that not only helps plan border crossings but also warns drivers about potential risks before they even reach the checkpoint. The automatic 'Green Card' check will prevent unpleasant situations at the border, save drivers time, and make crossings more predictable and comfortable.”

Oleksiy Kuleba, representative of the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development

The system will also alert drivers if their insurance is missing or invalid, a crucial feature for those planning to travel abroad with Ukrainian-registered vehicles. This innovation is designed to boost border crossing efficiency and reduce document-related risks at the checkpoint.

Implementing automatic 'Green Card' verification represents a major step in modernizing the border crossing process, as it helps cut administrative hurdles and improves service for commercial drivers. This change could also help reduce border queues, since drivers will be able to confirm they have the necessary documents in advance. As international trade and transportation continue to grow, such technological solutions are becoming increasingly important.

As the eQueue system continues to evolve, it’s essential for drivers to stay informed about the latest updates that enhance their border crossing experience. In addition to the new automated verification for commercial vehicles, private cars can now book their border queue through the Diia app, showcasing the ongoing improvements in the border management process. These advancements aim to streamline travel and ensure compliance with regulations, ultimately benefiting all vehicle operators.
