Ex-mayor of Kherson Mykolaienko on captivity: I wake up feeling guilty
The ex-mayor of Kherson, Volodymyr Mykolaienko, stated that he feels guilty towards his colleagues who are still in captivity. He admitted this in an interview on the YouTube channel 'There is a Question', complaining about the conditions of his detention in Russian captivity, where he felt defenseless and beyond the law. Mykolaienko urged the authorities to negotiate with him regarding the exchange of captives, emphasizing the importance of this process on public grounds. The former mayor of Kherson was kidnapped by Russians at the beginning of the conflict, but he refused to participate in an exchange in favor of another captive. He was released during the action '146 for 146', and for a long time his fate remained unknown. Volodymyr Mykolaienko took it upon himself to facilitate the release of other prisoners and to engage in the process of exchanging prisoners of war.
