Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal met with the head of Estonia's defense department, Hanno Pevkur. They discussed strengthening air defense, developing drone manufacturing, and creating joint defense enterprises. This was reported by 'Zhyttya' referring to Shmyhal.

During the meeting, Pevkur announced Estonia's initiative to allocate 3 million euros for the purchase and support of Starlink satellite communication systems for Ukraine. Shmyhal also emphasized Ukraine's readiness to participate in the implementation of projects within Safe and Legio, which will facilitate the mutual development of the defense industry.

Polish President Karol Nawrocki signed a law extending funding for the subscription of Starlink terminals in Ukraine, ensuring continuous communication for frontline communities and critical infrastructure. Poland has already provided Ukraine with over 29,000 of these terminals.

American Support for Ukraine

The U.S. State Department approved the sale of services and equipment for Starlink satellite communication and Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine. It was previously reported that USAID faced challenges in monitoring the use of thousands of Starlink terminals provided to Ukraine after Russia's invasion in 2022.

If necessary, Ukraine has support from the European Union, the USA, and countries from the entire alliance. The discussed initiatives and funding issues are steps towards strengthening the country's defense in the context of war and threats from other countries. American support in the form of services and equipment shows the readiness of other countries to share advanced technologies and contribute to the development of the Ukrainian defense sector.
