Kyiv Region Power Outage Schedule for April 9, 2026: Times and Affected Areas
Ukraine's Electricity Rationing Schedules
According to Главком: Across Ukraine, including the Kyiv region, scheduled electricity restrictions will be in effect on April 9, 2026. According to information from DTEK, hourly power outage schedules for all consumer categories will run from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM. For industrial consumers, power capacity limitation schedules will be active from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
These controlled outages are a common measure to balance the national grid and prevent wider blackouts. To prepare the energy system for winter, resilience plans have already been developed for each region. These plans were coordinated and approved at the level of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC). A meeting held on April 2, 2026, focused on the status of implementing these plans. The Cabinet of Ministers has allocated UAH 12.85 billion for their implementation, which will go toward protecting critical infrastructure, specifically 209 facilities in frontline regions and the Kyiv area.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted: 'Resilience plans for every region have been approved across the country. Road repairs after winter are also ongoing. It is important for communities and regional authorities not to waste time. Every significant facility must be protected.'
The total need for the restoration and modernization of Ukraine's energy sector over the next ten years is $90.6 billion, which is 34% higher than the previous damage estimate. Denys Shmyhal stated that Ukraine is building a new energy system that will be more resilient, flexible, and better protected from Russian attacks.
