Traffic Restrictions Ahead for Kyiv Residents on the Borshchahivka Route
Road Repairs Underway on Borshchahivka Corridor
According to Главком: Starting May 23 and continuing through July 5, extensive road construction will take place on the Borshchahivka route in Kyiv. The work focuses on the overpass at the intersection of the Ring Road and Lesya Kurbasa Avenue. While traffic will be partially restricted during this period, authorities have confirmed that a full closure of the overpass is not planned.
The repairs are being carried out by the municipal enterprise Kyivavtoshlyahmist as part of the contractor’s warranty obligations. Importantly, no additional funds from the city budget will be required. Work will proceed in both directions, with lanes closed alternately to maintain traffic flow and minimize disruption.
Driver Alerts and Alternative Routes
Information boards, temporary road signs, and barriers have already been installed near the construction zone to warn drivers of the changes. In addition, from May 22 to May 31, traffic will be partially restricted on Hostomelske Highway in the Sviatoshyn district of Kyiv. This is another factor for drivers to consider when planning trips in these areas.
These repair efforts are part of a broader strategy to improve Kyiv’s road infrastructure, aiming to enhance safety and driving comfort. Keeping drivers informed about traffic changes is a key step in preventing congestion and ensuring convenience for both residents and visitors. Motorists are advised to plan their routes in advance, taking these restrictions into account.
As road repairs progress on the Borshchahivka route, it is essential for commuters to stay updated about other transportation changes in the city. For instance, public transport services will also experience interruptions starting April 25, impacting many residents' daily commutes. Understanding these developments can help drivers and passengers plan their journeys more effectively during this busy period.
