New Decisions from Kyrgyzstan’s Government

According to Главком: To cut electricity consumption in government buildings this summer, Kyrgyzstan’s Cabinet of Ministers has relaxed the dress code for civil servants. Under the new rules, officials may now come to work without ties and take off their jackets while in their offices.

Adylbek Kasymaliev, First Deputy Head of the Cabinet, explained the logic:

“If we wear just shirts, we can mostly turn off the air conditioners. That’s why this decision was made.”

The approach draws inspiration from Japan, where officials also abandoned jackets during hot months to reduce energy costs. Kasymaliev noted that Japan saved billions of yen through this measure. However, Kyrgyzstan’s government has not yet disclosed its own savings target.

Parliamentary and Sports Updates

Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan’s parliament has passed a bill in its second and third readings that completely bans all pornographic websites within the country. The move has sparked public debate, though details of the discussions remain undisclosed.

In sports, changes have also occurred: Ukrainian coach Serhiy Puchkov was dismissed as head coach of the club Muras United. The firing followed his use of profanity directed at players. Puchkov, 63, led the team during the 2024 and 2025 seasons, securing a silver and a bronze medal in the national championship and winning the Kyrgyzstan Cup.

These recent actions by Kyrgyzstan’s government and parliament highlight active shifts in the country’s social and sports arenas. Relaxing the dress code for public servants could significantly boost energy efficiency, while the porn ban reflects tighter control over the information space. The coaching change, prompted by misconduct, underscores the growing emphasis on ethics and behavior in Kyrgyzstan’s professional sports. Together, these developments may signal broader transformations in the nation’s public life.
