According to hvylya.net: China urged the US to stop threats regarding increased tariffs and emphasized the need to continue negotiations to resolve trade differences. Beijing warned that it would take appropriate measures in response to any pressure from Washington, ' Bloomberg reported.
On Friday, US President Donald Trump announced an additional 100% tariff on Chinese goods and imposed export controls on 'any critical software.' This decision was made after the threat to cancel a future meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping. Trump's reaction came in response to Beijing's actions, including new port charges for American ships, an antitrust investigation against Qualcomm, and restrictions on the export of rare earth metals and other materials.
After President Trump announced new tariffs and export control, China called for peaceful negotiations but did not rule out tough measures in response to any pressure from the US.
