The former Deputy Minister of Energy has been implicated in the embezzlement of 18 million hryvnias

The entire Kyiv is shocked by the scandalous information about the accusation against the former top official of the State Enterprise 'NAEK Energoatom' for the appropriation of funds. The accused had to pay over 105 million hryvnias as civil liability insurance, but later it turned out that this amount increased by 18.6 million hryvnias due to a dubious additional agreement.

The money, after being transferred to the bank account of the insurance company, was withdrawn through fictitious enterprises and distributed to the accounts of other insurance companies. Then the amount was converted into cash and divided among the members of the scheme.

'This scheme of withdrawing money and violating legislation led to the revocation of the insurance company’s license in April 2023. Now the suspect faces liability for appropriation of another's property in especially large amounts.'

This situation has caused public outrage and highlighted the need to fight corruption in all spheres of power.
