The U.S. Congress voted for military aid to Ukraine: details of the decision
According to hvylya.net: The U.S. House of Representatives on Friday, July 18, voted by a majority to continue providing military support to Ukraine. This information was conveyed by Republican Congressman Don Bacon.
353 lawmakers voted for the amendment, which allocates funds to support Ukraine in the Pentagon's budget for 2026, while 76 voted against it. This will allocate approximately $832 billion for defense program funding for the next fiscal year.
As reported by The Hill, the bill proposes an increase in funding for active-duty military, reserves, and the U.S. National Guard by $6.6 billion compared to the current level - bringing the total to $189 billion. Additionally, it proposes a 3.8% increase in basic military pay.
Funds will also be allocated for procurement, operation, and maintenance. Currently, these amount to $174 billion and $283 billion, respectively. Compared to previous years, this will reflect an increase in the volume of allocations.
The decision of the U.S. House of Representatives to continue providing military support to Ukraine is an important step in strengthening the country's military security and the joint fight against aggression.
