Contract or a New Sentence: How Russia Forces Prisoners to Fight Against Ukraine
According to glavcom.ua: Russian prisoners refuse to go fight against Ukraine, so the Russian authorities are improving their recruitment methods. Convicts are subjected to pressure and additional charges, extending their time in prison. The complexity of the situation is exacerbated by the decreasing number of convicts in Russia, which increases the pressure on them. Recruitment methods for soldiers to go to war are becoming increasingly harsh and aggressive.
There is an alternative in the Ministry of Defense - sign a contract and go to the front.
For example, the name of 34-year-old Andrei Voronin has appeared on the list of new prisoners punished for spreading 'fakes' about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. He received a six-year prison sentence. The number of such cases is rapidly increasing, indicating that the problem is relevant and serious.
In the past year, there have been virtually no new convicts, so the authorities are preparing to close a certain number of prisons. At the same time, the methods of pressure and recruitment remain at a high level, as the refusal to fight in the army remains a relevant topic for further attempts by the Russian authorities.
