Ministry of Defense introduces long-term contracts: what will change for the military

According to hvylya.net: The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is preparing to submit a new model of long-term contracts for servicemen for consideration by the parliamentary defense committee. Under this initiative, both new conscripts and those already in the Armed Forces or other security and defense structures will be able to sign contracts. The main provisions of the new model will include the terms for renewing contracts and increasing monetary support for servicemen.

In addition, the contracts will include motivational social packages and the possibility of exemption from conscription during mobilization after two years of service. A member of parliament highlighted the necessity of ensuring social justice and avoiding discrimination based on legal status among military personnel serving under different types of contracts. Legislative changes to implement this initiative have already been adopted, with only the issue of financial support for servicemen who agree to the new military service conditions remaining.
