Price Halved for Kyiv Apartment Linked to Russian Propagandist Lebedev’s Associate
Second Auction for Kyiv Apartment
According to Главком: The State Property Fund of Ukraine has put a central Kyiv apartment up for auction again. The property is formally owned by a friend of Russian propagandist Artemy Lebedev. The starting price has been cut in half to 7.075 million Ukrainian hryvnias. The auction is scheduled for July 20. An earlier auction on June 30 failed to attract a buyer when the price was set at 14.1 million hryvnias.
Apartment Details
Located on Saksahanskoho Street, the two-level apartment spans 193.2 square meters, with a living area of 40 square meters. The State Property Fund of Ukraine rates the overall condition of the unit as satisfactory. The apartment includes:
- Entrance hall
- Living room
- Two studies
- Kitchen
- Two bathrooms
- Three balconies
- Storage room on the first level
- An additional study
- Bedroom
- Storage room on the second level
The apartment was registered under Lebedev’s friend, a software developer, just months before the full-scale invasion began. Both properties owned by Lebedev were confiscated by the High Anti-Corruption Court in July 2023. The first apartment, measuring 138.5 square meters on Yaroslaviv Val Street, was sold at auction on June 30 for 13.5 million hryvnias. The winning bidder was the Center for Unmanned Systems Research LLC. Proceeds from the sale of Lebedev’s sanctioned assets go to the Fund for the Elimination of the Consequences of Armed Aggression.
This apartment highlights Ukrainian authorities’ efforts to target assets linked to aggressors.
The repeat auction for the apartment tied to the Russian propagandist’s friend underscores Ukraine’s push to deal with assets connected to aggressors. Lowering the starting price may be an attempt to attract more potential buyers and secure revenue for the state budget. Selling confiscated property is part of Ukraine’s strategy to address the fallout from armed aggression and support economic recovery during wartime.
As the State Property Fund of Ukraine continues its efforts to liquidate assets associated with Russian individuals, another property linked to Artemy Lebedev is set to be auctioned. This initiative reflects a broader strategy to address the financial consequences of the ongoing conflict.
