An avalanche occurred on Mount Yalung-Ri in Nepal, sweeping through a camp at an altitude of 4900 meters, claiming the lives of seven people. Five foreign climbers and two Nepali guides were killed, ABC reports, citing authorities who have not confirmed the nationality of the deceased foreigners.
According to 'Glavcom', this information was reported by ABC.
Spokesperson of the Armed Police Forces Shailendra Tapa stated that five more people were injured. Rescuers were able to reach the scene of the tragedy via difficult footpaths despite the challenging conditions in the mountainous region.
Access to Mount Everest Halted
Due to the exceptionally heavy snowfall in the Himalayas caused by Cyclone Monta moving through India, Tibetan authorities have temporarily halted access to Mount Everest. The snowfall has forced the suspension of ticket sales for tourist routes in the Everest area.
During the avalanche on Mount Yalung-Ri in Nepal, 7 people lost their lives, while access to Mount Everest has been halted due to exceptionally heavy snowfall.
