В Україні зафіксовано масовані удари дронів по стратегічних об'єктах російської нафтогазової інфраструктури.

Drone Assault in Krasnodar Krai

According to Главком: On the night of April 11, 2024, a major drone attack targeted infrastructure facilities in Russia's Krasnodar Krai. Strikes hit oil refining and military infrastructure in areas including Novorossiysk, Gelendzhik, and the Krymsky district. The sound of drone engines was audible for over an hour, with the primary target being the 'Krymskaya' linear production and dispatch station (LPDS). This facility, owned by the state-owned pipeline monopoly Transneft, is a crucial hub for pumping fuel to the export terminals in Novorossiysk on the Black Sea.

This assault followed a previous attack on the same 'Krymskaya' LPDS on April 9, 2024, which caused a fire and damaged infrastructure. Furthermore, on the night of April 9, at least 20 explosions were recorded over an hour in the area near the city of Krymsk, with a military airfield among the affected sites. These strikes are part of a broader pattern of attacks on Russian energy and military assets, which have intensified since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

A Series of Coordinated Strikes

Drone attacks also occurred earlier in April. On April 4, in the Samara region, the city of Tolyatti witnessed strikes on major industrial sites. These included the 'Togliattikauchuk' chemical plant, where a large-scale fire broke out, and the 'KuibyshevAzot' enterprise. Prior to that, on April 2, in Ufa, Republic of Bashkortostan, an attack was directed at the 'Bashneft-UNPZ' oil refinery. This plant is owned by Bashneft, a subsidiary of the state-controlled giant Rosneft, and processes a mix of West Siberian and local Bashkir oil.

Consequently, the series of drone attacks on Russian facilities in April 2024 demonstrated escalating tensions, particularly in Krasnodar Krai, Samara Oblast, and the Republic of Bashkortostan.

These events point to a significant escalation in the region, with potential serious consequences for security and stability within Russia. Attacks on critical infrastructure objects, such as oil refineries and military bases, could impact the country's energy security and the economies of the affected regions. Monitoring the situation's further development is crucial for understanding potential shifts in the political and economic landscape of Russia and surrounding nations.

As tensions escalate, recent drone strikes have also targeted other Russian cities, leading to significant explosions in Nevinnomyssk and Krasnodar. These incidents highlight a worrying trend in the region's security landscape.
