Massive Car Accidents in Finland: Dozens of Vehicles Involved in Crashes Due to Icy Conditions

According to glavcom.ua: Bad weather conditions caused a series of car accidents in southern Finland. Severe icing and thick fog in the Lahti area significantly complicated road conditions. For instance, in the Nelostie zone, an accident occurred involving 40 vehicles, resulting in 12 injuries, two of whom are in serious condition.

Among the participants of the accident was a journalist from Yle, who reported that the fog appeared suddenly, and the road instantly became an ice rink.

In another area, a truck with a tanker overturned, leading to another series of collisions involving dozens of vehicles. The road was temporarily closed in both directions. Currently, police and rescuers are working at the accident sites and urging drivers to be very careful due to the hazardous weather conditions.

As a result of the difficult weather conditions in southern Finland, a series of car accidents occurred due to severe icing and thick fog, resulting in injuries and significant material damage. The police urge drivers to exercise caution and adhere to traffic rules in similar conditions to avoid such incidents in the future.
