Ecological Catastrophe in Southern Ukraine: Russian Aggression Destroys Unique Reserves
According to hvylya.net: As a result of Russia's aggression, ecosystems in southern Ukraine have suffered severe destruction that is now impossible to fully assess. The Naval Forces of Ukraine reported the actual destruction of key conservation sites in the region, such as the Kinburn Spit and the 'Askania-Nova' biosphere reserve.
It has been noted that the consequences of aggression are felt not only by nature but also by local residents, for whom the restoration of these unique natural sites is important. Russia is obstructing international environmental organizations from accessing the Black Sea coast, thereby attempting to alter the perception of the scale of the ecological crime that has occurred in the region.
The catastrophic consequences of Russia's aggression for ecosystems in southern Ukraine pose an exceptionally severe challenge to the environmental and ecological condition of the region, and also underline the importance of environmental protection in the context of armed conflicts.
