Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga emphasized the importance of holding Russia accountable for its crimes. Marking the 80th anniversary of the Nuremberg Trials, he noted that Russia must bear responsibility for its actions, regardless of the motives. There was also a proposal for the establishment of a Special Tribunal to examine Russia's crimes, and gratitude was expressed to the Council of Europe for supporting this idea.
“Putin’s personal accountability is indispensable. War criminals cannot be immune to justice – justice must be immune to war criminals.”
Ensuring Russia’s accountability for its war crimes is a crucial condition for peace in Europe, which is a fundamental aspect of justice and security in the region.
