According to hvylya.net: The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is purchasing body armor with buoyancy elements for use by the Naval Forces and special operations units in coastal and aquatic environments. This innovation will reduce risks and enhance the safety of servicemen during maritime operations.
'The special module allows the body armor to turn into a rescue device upon contact with water, capable of keeping a serviceman in full uniform, individual protective equipment, and with weapons and full ammunition on the surface of the water. This reduces risks for personnel during operations at sea or in areas with water obstacles.'
According to representatives of the military agency, this step is implemented as an unconditional necessity to ensure the safety of servicemen during the performance of their duties.
