Protests in Britain: residents oppose refugee camp
According to glavcom.ua: A mass protest took place in Great Britain against the placement of 600 asylum seekers in a military camp in the town of Crowborough. About 2,000 people demanded that the government abandon plans to use the army camp for this purpose. Local residents are concerned that the group of asylum seekers consists of single men, living in this town with a population of 20,000, which is why they have even installed alarms in their homes out of fear for their safety. Previously, Afghan families evacuated from Kabul in 2021 were housed in this same camp.
The situation shows that changes in Britain's immigration policy are causing waves in society. The proposed plan to tighten the country's immigration rules, which includes implementing a Danish model, has caused outrage among citizens and provoked this protest against the placement of refugees in a military camp.
