According to glavcom.ua: The Chernobyl nuclear power plant has found itself in a blackout following a Russian attack on the energy facility in Slavutych. According to information from the Ministry of Energy, an emergency situation has occurred at the plant, and the new safe confinement protecting against the release of radioactive materials is currently without power. Specialists are already working to restore electricity supply.
It is reported that an emergency situation has arisen at the Chernobyl NPP facilities. Due to voltage fluctuations, the new safe confinement, which is a key facility that isolates the destroyed fourth reactor block of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant and prevents the release of radioactive materials into the environment, is currently without power. Experts are working on restoring electricity supply.
Today, the enemy attacked Slavutych, striking the energy facility. This has caused a power outage in the city, leaving thousands of local residents without electricity. Additionally, power outages have been implemented in the Chernihiv region following the enemy strike on the energy facility, but energy workers are already working on connecting to alternative sources of power, and the regional energy company has published a schedule of outages until the situation normalizes.
Recent attacks on energy facilities in Ukraine have heightened fears regarding the country's energy security and may have serious consequences for the population and the environment. The government is working on restoring the electric grid and ensuring safety at nuclear power stations.
