New DI License Plates Introduced in Ukraine: What It Means for Drivers

Ukraine has received new vehicle license plates series DI, which are not linked to any region of the country. This new numbering system allows individuals to obtain them online without visiting state authorities through the government portal 'Diia'.

In addition to DI for cars and PD for motorcycles and mopeds, there are also series ED and DC that are issued through the electronic driver's cabinet. These new numbers symbolize a transition to a digital registration format, instead of traditional paper procedures.

New license plates can be obtained by submitting an online application on the 'Diia' portal, choosing the series, and acquiring them for approximately 1,500 hryvnias, which includes the cost of the certificate template and the new license plates. Thus, citizens with a verified profile in 'Diia' can take advantage of this new service without unnecessary hassle and time spent.
