Owners of booklet passports face fines: new rules from the State Migration Service
According to hvylya.net: According to the legislation, holders of booklet passports are required to update their photos when they reach the ages of 25 and 45 within one month. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in a fine of up to 51 hryvnias. The booklet passport has an indefinite status, but it should be replaced with an ID card if the deadline for updating the photo is missed or in case of damage, loss, theft, or changes to the holder's personal data.
Citizens with old-style passports may face administrative sanctions for failing to update their documents on time. The State Migration Service of Ukraine reminds about important changes in the document flow procedure.
Experts have decided to shorten the processing and exchange time for passports from 10 to 7 working days. New entry rules into the EU are also being introduced, including the automated Entry/Exit System and the mandatory electronic permit ETIAS for Ukrainians. Furthermore, citizens can apply for a passport abroad, adhering to special conditions for men aged 18 to 60.
Updating passports is an important procedure that must be carried out on time to avoid administrative fines. Adhering to the requirements for updating photos and rules for replacing passports helps ensure the proper functioning of the citizen identification system and their safety while traveling. Therefore, it is essential to remember the need to update documents according to legislative requirements.
