According to hvylya.net: The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is planning raids by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) due to suspicions of inflated prices for defense procurements. This information was disseminated by the publication Politico.

According to the data obtained, NABU is preparing to conduct searches in the military department. The main objective of the investigative actions is to uncover possible abuses in the signing of contracts for the supply of military equipment when Rustem Umerov was the head of the department.

Abuses in Procurement at the Ministry of Defense

One of the episodes that piqued the interest of investigators is the procurement of bulletproof vests. The investigation showed that it was about the supply of low-quality products at inflated prices. There are also suspicions regarding the influence of businessman Timur Mindich on decisions in the Ministry of Defense.

NABU

The investigation continues, and NABU employees plan to gain access to internal documents related to procurements to establish all circumstances of possible violations.

Criminal Scheme in the Energy Sector

In addition, earlier, NABU and SAP uncovered a criminal scheme in the energy sector, which was led by Timur Mindich, a former partner of Zelensky. Members of this organization forced 'Energoatom' to pay money to avoid blocking financial operations.

Among those involved in the scheme were Minister of Justice Herman Galushchenko, Minister of Energy Svitlana Grinchuk, and other officials. Searches were conducted at the homes of current ministers and businessman Mindich, who left the country before investigators arrived.

NABU's actions indicate a strengthening of the fight against corruption in Ukraine's state structures.

As a result of NABU's investigations, suspicions of abuse in procurements at the Ministry of Defense and a criminal scheme in the energy sector, led by a former partner of the president, were uncovered. These actions demonstrate the intention of Ukrainian law enforcement to actively combat corruption in state institutions.
