Military tax contributions to the budget: almost 117 billion paid in 9 months

Increase in military tax revenues
Внески на військові потреби: бюджет отримав майже 117 мільярдів за три квартали.

According to hvylya.net: Ukrainian taxpayers have paid almost 116.7 billion UAH in military tax to the budget in the first nine months of this year. This is almost four times more than during the same period last year (+84.2 billion UAH), according to the State Tax Service.

In 2020, only 32.5 billion UAH was collected in the first 9 months. This growth in military tax is explained by both the increase in the rate to 5% starting December 1, 2024, and the conscious support from our military by taxpayers who pay their taxes on time.

The largest amounts were paid in:
  • Kyiv - 37.7 billion UAH,
  • Dnipropetrovsk region - 13.2 billion UAH,
  • Lviv region - 9 billion UAH,
  • Kharkiv region - 7.4 billion UAH.

Military tax is paid by all taxpayers regardless of their categories.

Military tax rates for different categories of taxpayers

  • PEs of the first, second, and fourth groups - 10% of the minimum wage established on January 1 of the reporting year (in 2025 the amount of the monthly advance payment will be 800 UAH).
  • Single tax payers of the third group (except e-residents) - 1% of income received quarterly.
  • Entrepreneurs under the general taxation system - 5% of net annual taxable income.
  • From hired employees - 5% of the accrued wages.

In the first nine months of this year, the amounts of military tax in 2021 increased almost fourfold compared to the same period last year. This indicates an increased awareness and willingness of taxpayers to support the national defense of Ukraine.
